Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases in the world. According to National data from 2002 Nutrition and Health Survey in China, the prevalence of hypertensions in adult was about 18.8% or it involved in about 180 million Chinese. Now hypertension has already become a major public health problem that could have severely impacted on population health status. This paper reviews the role of nutritional intervention in treating hypertension.
