Compared to the researches on the correlation between Socioeconomic Status(SES) and health, there were seldom discusses based on lifestyle as mediating pathway. Most of related studies were based on samples in the developed countries. The article use Structural Equation Model to explore the relationship between SES,smoking and alcohol,exercise,self-rating health and body type using the China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS)data in 2006.The results show that SES influences health condition both directly and indirectly through lifestyle. The influence of SES on self-rating health is more significant than that on body type.Education and occupation play more important roles on individual's health and lifestyle while the effect of family income is small.
