Objective To understand medical behavior of Chinese patients, explore the impact factors and influence of the medical behavior;so as to conclude and derive the model of impact factors of health seeking behavior to provide a general approach for model research. Methods The data on urban and rural population of the patients from China Health and Nutrition Survey in 2006 were treated with regression analyses logistic and multiple linear regressions by using SPSS 13.0 statistic software,so as to obtain the impact factors and their influence on the medical behavior. Results Assuming personal and family characteristics and other factors as independent variables(X),treatment options and medical expenditure as dependent variables(Y)separately. Two equations:probability function of hospital choice(C)and function of medical expenditure standard(M)have been achieved. The severity of disease, price of medical services, and whether a patient has the health insurance were the common compact factors of medical choice and expenditure. Conclusion Through two regression analyses, the model of impact factors of health seeking behavior is derived;the thoughts and principles derived from the impact factors of health seeking behavior are consistent with Grossman model.
