This paper investigates the gender difference on time poverty gap in rural China.Time poverty is thought as the fact that some individuals do not have enough time for rest and leisure after taking into account the time spent working, whether in the labor market,or for domestic work.Using data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey, estimates of time poverty by gender are provided and the effect of structural change in the time poverty is analyzed. The main findings are that married women are at higher risk of the time poverty, and structural change affects women even more.
