Abstract

The notion of job quality communicates that the nature of work matters to workers, not just if they have any job at all. Whether jobs are good or bad is of great importance because work is central to human welfare and to the functioning of organizations and societies. Good jobs provide a foundation for a high quality of life, healthier workers, and stronger families and communities.
