Abstract

We thank Dr. Zandbergen for his thoughtful discussion of key methodological issues related to validation of GIS databases for epidemiologic research. While we both use GIS, there are important methodological and conceptual differences in Dr. Zandbergen's research on traffic pollution and health (1) versus our research on the built environment and physical activity.
