Program and Policy Options for Preventing Obesity in the Low, Middle, and Transitional Income Countries: background research and program evaluation
Summary
The goal of this research is to evaluate emerging food policies in four countries -- South Africa, Turkey, Brazil, and Colombia. We are specifically looking at taxation, advertising restrictions, and front-of-package labels, and their effects on food purchases and dietary intake. Population-level datasets are being used to assess household food purchases linked to nutrition facts panel datasets, national dietary surveys, and longitudinal diet data where available.
