David Colston
I am a third year PhD Student in UNC's Department of Health Behavior, and a first year trainee in the Carolina Population Center's Biosocial Training Program. My work centers around understanding the social and structural factors that impact substance use, and how harm reduction strategies can be implemented to reduce the burden of overdose in the US. My recent work has centered around opioid and injection drug use in Appalachian Ohio and polydrug use trends in North Carolina, though I also have extensive experience evaluating the impact of tobacco control policies on downstream health equity. If you are interested in collaborating or learning more about my work, please reach out!
