Adriana Wisniewski
Adriana Wisniewski is a biological anthropology doctoral student. Her research focuses on non-communicable (cardiometabolic) diseases and the relationships to social determinants of health at a population level globally using “big data” and secondary data sets. She is also interested in diabetes and autoimmune-focused research. She is involved in ongoing clinical-based projects focused on older adults with Type 1 Diabetes in the US and diabetes-centered projects related to food insecurity and access to care in the Galápagos Islands.
Before coming to UNC, she earned her B.S. in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon, where she also worked on projects with the World Health Organization (the World Health Survey+).
