Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Samuel Baxter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has training and expertise in quantitative methods and community-engaged research approaches. Dr. Baxter's ongoing research applies equity and ecological frameworks to highlight psychosocial and environmental determinants of cardiovascular inequities across the lifespan, with an emphasis on marginalized men and populations in under-resourced communities.

Dr. Baxter completed his PhD in Health Policy and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after earning his MPH from Morehouse School of Medicine, and BS in Sociology from Clemson University. He completed postdoctoral training in public health sciences at Clemson University.  His work has been supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute.
