N. Krishnan Namboodiri died in April 2015. Namboodiri was a Carolina Population Center Faculty Fellow from 1977 to 1985 and was among the UNC faculty members who were affiliated with CPC when it was formed in 1966. Namboodiri was a Professor of Sociology at UNC-Chapel Hill.

His obituary says:

Namboodiri Dr. Krishnan Namboodiri, 85, of Columbus, passed away on April 29, 2015 in Cleveland after a brief illness. He got his Ph D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and worked as a professor of sociology at the University of N. Carolina and The Ohio State University for several years. He retired in 2000 as professor emeritus from OSU. He is the author of several books and scientific articles. He is survived by his wife, Kadambari; daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Sally and Sudhakar Rao and grandchildren, Sanjay and Samaresh. Anyone wishing can make a donation to the Heart Association in his memory.
