CPC Fellow Melinda Meade has died

Carolina Population Center Faculty Fellow Melinda S. Meade died November 19th at the age of 68. She became a CPC Faculty Fellow in 1979 and was a Fellow Emerita since 2009. She was a Professor Emerita of Geography at UNC-Chapel Hill.

UNC’s Geography department posted this announcement about her death.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The announcement posted by her neighborhood association says: “Condolences may be sent to her brother Robert Meade, 2533 Danny Lane, Dallas TX 75234-6281. Donations may be made in her name to Paws4Ever Animal Sanctuary, 6311 Nicks Road, Mebane NC 27302.”
